What is Celluma?
Celluma is an FDA approved light therapy device to treat wrinkles, acne, and pain conditions. Its technology was developed by NASA and is backed by science.
How does Celluma light therapy work?
Celluma uses specific combinations of blue, red, and infrared light wavelengths to stimulate tissue which helps regenerate damaged cells. It increases production of collagen and elastin to reduce wrinkles, brighten skin and improve texture. Celluma destroys acne bacteria and helps prevent future breakouts. Studies show Celluma increases blood circulation, reduces inflammation, speeds tissue healing time and eases muscle and joint pain.
What's the science behind Celluma?
In phototherapy, light emitting diodes (LED) emit specific combinations of light wavelengths (blue, red and infrared) that naturally stimulate tissue. For example, a combination of red and infrared wavelengths are scientifically proven to stimulate fibroblasts to increase collagen and elastin. Using LED, light particles (photons) are absorbed into cell membranes and mitochondria causing ATP (adenosine triphosphate) energy that speeds up metabolic processes and helps us more efficiently produce enzymes, proteins, etc. to regenerate cells and repair tissue. This increased micro-circulation decreases inflammation and pain.
How many treatments are required?
A minimum of 2 treatments per week for especially the first 3 weeks and for up to approx. 4 to 8 weeks depending on severity of condition. Approx. 2 treatments per month thereafter for maintenance. Celluma is so safe that there’s no limit to how many sessions you can have, even twice a day! Please note, like most all medispa treatments, this is a commitment but one which we believe will produce life changing results.
How long does it last?
Many clients see or feel a difference after their first and second sessions. Generally, results last approx. 5 to 6 months after a full course of treatment (4 to 8 weeks) though monthly maintenance is recommended.
Does Celluma treat acne and can teens use it?
Celluma has been scientifically proven safe and is FDA approved as an acne treatment. The blue light spectrum both destroys acne bacteria and prevents future breakouts without toxic chemicals, UV rays, creams and their side-effects.
This could be one the best things you can do for your teen to boost their self-esteem. It’s hard enough being a teenager let alone having acne. Teens are welcome at LA Laser Niagara with parental consent and attendance.
What happens during a treatment?
You’ll lie on a comfortable spa table and be given protective eye wear. The Celluma device will be placed directly over the area to be treated. No prep, creams, or anything. You’ll feel a slight warming sensation but it’s quite comfortable and you’re welcome to a 30 minute nap!
What does Celluma treat?
Celluma is FDA approved for multiple uses including wrinkles, acne, joint and muscle pain and arthritis.
Celluma for the face improves skin texture, smooths skin, evens skin tone, reduces redness, and is relaxing and restorative. For the body, Celluma relieves muscle tension and spasms, reduces inflammation, increases circulation, and promotes rejuvenation and relaxation.
Who can't use Celluma?
Celluma is not for:
- patients who are pregnant or breastfeeding
- patients with epilepsy or a history of seizures
- patients taking cortisone or steroid injections
- patients using photosensitive drugs
- children and infants
What about home use light therapy?
We use the Celluma Pro which is far more powerful and effective than light therapy devices you can buy for home use. In fact, a technician must be certified to use the Pro. In addition to taking longer to see results, the upfront expense of buying your own is very costly especially if you’re not sure what your results might be. Just another reason we’re making it affordable so you get the best for the least!
